The Force (spirit) is Strong with This One

Hello!

Winston was baptized! He gave me a mini heart attack when he was late for sacrament meeting the next day. The primary teachers love him! He bore his testimony at the baptism and it was so awesome! One of his teachers came up to us and said "the force is strong with this one" I so agree! He will be an amazing full time missionary. He is already getting his friends and dad involved in the church. His dad a couple days ago actually said that he would also like to be baptized! Whoot!

As you can tell, I am super excited. Other things that happened this week is we are tracting my knuckles off. I have literally built up a callus on my knuckles. We find new investigators very well here talking to everyone and knocking on doors. We have recently been having lots of success through recent converts and that is always awesome. One of the doors that we knocked into was a college apartment. Meaning that there was three college students there. They are all studying theology and it was kind of a bash in a way during the lesson. The next time that we met with them they had done their "research" we get into the lesson and then the real truth comes out. They can't believe the book of Mormon to be true because there isn't any physical evidence of it. Then they proceed to try and tare my testimony down and the other funny thing was that they believed in the trinity, which blew my mind. I was going to scriptural bash with them but I knew that wouldn't help anything so I decided to bare my testimony on the Book of Mormon. To be honest, I couldn't tell if it was the spirit or adrenaline or even both coursing through my veins. They got quite and even scared after I finished with my testimony. Then they say that I have so much faith in this one thing that it scares them because I am like an Islamic radicalist. I was pretty caught off guard about that but they accepted to read the Book of Mormon so I am not even mad.

There is your story for the day. Got to love the good ol bible belt! I got interviews this week and it is my last one before my departing interview... I am losing my mind! I will not give up though, got to hit that goal of baptizing monthly! Anyways, I love y'all and have a blessed week!

Another Week Bites the Dust

Hello!

I can't remember what happened this week. lets see, on Thursday we helped out at this old mansion that is being used as an art museum. We had to clean out the back room and move things to the cellar. It was built in 1830, when the gospel was restored, and was used in the civil war as a hospital for both sides of the battle. They like to add in there that people have died in that house. It was a bit creepy not gonna lie. I got a free shirt out of it though!

We set another homie on date for Cinco De Mayo! We have a mission wide goal to baptize monthly but especially in the month of May. The district is totally on fire! We are doing everything in our power to baptize monthly but we all know that it isn't us who gets the baptisms, it is the Lord. That is always the hardest part. To remember to be humble about all the numerical success that comes with working hard. Like this past Sunday, we had non of our investigators show up to church so I was feeling sorry for myself but I went to PMG pages 10-11 and that determines if you are a successful missionary or not.

Nothing else really happened this week. This next week should be good and the one after! Just working my tale off! Oh I talked to Bishop Pennington from the Linden ward and he said this "you are on your death bed so don't start smoking" He explained not to waste my last bit of a mission because if I was really dying would I start smoking? It was pretty funny but good advice. I love yall and hope ya'll have a blessed week!

Mosiah 2:17

The subject line pretty much sums up the week. We did so much service this week! First things first, I went on an exchange with E. Persons and I love that man! We had a good time finding up in Gallatin and we had some amazing lunch at Swaney and Swifts. I got the Farmhouse burger and it is to die for. The rest of the week we did service almost everyday. On Saturday though we got roped in with the Spanish Branch to move this lady in. She had a tool safe that had to weigh nearly a ton! Ok maybe 700ibs but dude it was so heavy. Not only that but we had to go up to the 3rd floor. classic. Anyways, I got put on pulling duty...again. We wrecked the stairs going up but I am so happy that the hand truck we were using had rollers on the back. Anyways, we get to the top of the third floor and there is a wall that made it impossible for me to pull it up those last two stairs. I was just holding on for dear life because if I let go then it would tumble down and most likely kill like 4 people, my companion included. We decide to go for gold because my arms where starting to fail me. We laid it down and swung it over the last two steps. We got it in the room and I just fell because I was so exhausted! I need to workout more or something because I was weak.

We had a miracle happen on Sunday though, D came to church! He was outside waiting to pick up his mom Theresa and we went out and invited him in. I think he enjoyed it. Winston was also there and he is totally getting dunked on the 21st! We had a lesson with him last night and he found for himself in the scriptures to have faith like Nephi. Mind you he is 10 so I think he is smarter then me. He is so sick!

Yesterday we had a butt ton of orders in the storehouse so I was doing the calling for the walk ins and man it was a party! people were just running around everywhere, pulling orders, supplying shelves, loading the totes and truck. It was a fun time but I was pretty whipped after that. Things are always interesting on a mission. I love y'all and hope y'all have a blessed week!
