Don't You Ever Walk Away

We got some good fire and brimstone from Elder Holland and Elder Klebingat. I was fortunate to get three days in a row with them! Here are some of my take aways, 1.) Don't ever judge about who is ready for the gospel or not (telling us to talk to everyone) 2.) I need to put myself in uncomfortable positions so I can grow. 3.) The Book of Mormon is proof of on going revelation and it ushered in the second coming. 4.) I will never walk away from my mission. 5.) Make daily Book of Mormon reading a habit in my family. 6.) Elder Klebingat said during the YSA meeting that you need to be physically attractive ha! Also, I learned that I am here fulfilling a premortal covenant I made to gather the house of Israel in the last days. I got so many good things out of this and at the end when we were singing "I know that my Redeemer lives" I lost it. It was such a good experience!

This week was so booked that it just flew by! I did an exchange in Ashland city with E. Jackson and we had a good time. It was like Linden over there in that part of our area. Had the 3 rounds of spiritual edification. Then had a sick district meeting with like 16 people! E. White was there and so was E. Doman. I just love those guys.

Then that night Elder Hunter and I had a way cool experience with our investigator who is being baptized this weekend. We get in there thinking we might have to change the date but we get to talking and she said that she feels like she should be baptized! She has been fasting and praying and finally felt like she is ready. We went over the baptismal interview questions and hadn't even taught her the Word of Wisdom. I mention the 5 things that we stay away from and she said "Tea!?" Southerners love their tea. Anyways, she is sad about it but takes a huge leap of faith and grabs all the tea she just bought and gives it to us and says "since it is a commandment, I must follow it." My jaw dropped. I absolutely love the spirit!

We also got transfer calls yesterday and E. Hunter and I are staying! I hope he is the one I am with until I go home. We have so much more work to do and more baptisms coming up. I love all of you and hope yall have a blessed week!

Oh my Gatos

This week absolutely flew by! I did 4 exchanges, which is a record or me. I go on another one today after the temple! I will have to make this quick because I have to go.

Elder Hunter was sick a bit this week so we all took turns watching him. He was just pitiful. Then we went with the ZLs and we had a miracle happen. Me and Elder Mecham where trying to find cinnamon mouthwash for a quit smoking workshop. We looked everywhere! Then we said a prayer and we ended up in Save a lot and boom! There they were and it even said “new” on the sign. It was also going to be our last shot. It was a testimony builder.

Daily light savings is such a blessing! We can actually knock doors around 7 and people don’t get mad! On one of my exchanges, we were knocking and normally you open up the storm door to knock on the door. Anyways, we were having a good time knocking and I swing open a storm door and lo and behold the door was open! The man inside stopped and looked so confused at me. I was so embarrassed that asked what his name was twice! Luckily he was chill. I am such an advanced door knocker now that I just let myself in.

Then at trainer trainee meeting yesterday I was spiritually fed. That meeting is my favorite meeting that I have gone too. I love learning how to improve and that meeting is all about improvement. I also had interviews and I am most likely staying with Elder Hunter until I go home. I so hope this happens! Elder Hunter is a stellar missionary.

That is all and I hope y’all have a blessed week!

4-Peat

I will go over some of the highlights this week because we are headed down to Nashville for part of Pday. The van got the W on the golden hubcap! I thought we would get third but looks like we got first! This is my 4th time getting one so let’s make it a goal to get 2 more. We had Zone Conference too and that was so sick! We got a training on finding and how to obey with consecration. I had to delete a few songs and get in the habit of writing in my journal at night and not in the morning. I love how the spirit can tell you what to work on.

The other highlight is we steer a baptismal date! She is so solid and just amazing. We tracted into her the first week we were here and has come to church since! There is even members that are going over to teach her how to read and read the Book of Mormon with her! It has been a joy teaching her.

The other cool thing is an Apostle of the lord with be here next week and he is speaking to the missionaries next Saturday! Whoot! Rumor has it that it will be Elder Holland. I better get my fire fighter suit on because the mission is gonna be baptized by fire. Other highlights are we may be able to go to a young adult thing with him too because if we find an investigator between the ages of 18-35 that will go then we can go. So please pray we can bring someone with us.

This next week will be a blast! I have something to do every day. Trainer trainee is next week and I am way stoked for that! Anyways, I love y’all and hope everything is going well. Have a blessed week!

Espanish

We have done a ton load of service at the Bishop's storehouse. On Monday we counted all the inventory and I was in the freezer at -5 for 15 min! I about lost my ears, mind and fingers. Then on Tuesday we had the normal filling orders. I had so much fun doing stuff at the storehouse though! I wore my overalls and trucking hat on Tuesday and got a lot of complements. Also, for those who know him, I work under Brother Abawajae (I can't spell it). He is so cool and such a spiritual man!
Announcement, we will have smartphones next week so download the app Google Hangouts so I can chat with you. I am excited to have one because my ipad has given up the ghost. All I can do on it is play music. Also, Mom don't freak out, but David Archuleta sang "Be Still My Soul" in sacrament meeting and I am now not skeptical of him because he actually has an amazing voice. He will go teach with us sometime if we ask him ha!
I am loving serving with Elder Hunter. We do a lot of good work together and we are getting this area moving! We had a lady come to church this weekend and it was so cool! We are still finding people out our ears but it has been fun. We gave a blessing to a nonmember and he teared up. He will be at church not this weekend but next. I absolutely love serving with new missionaries! So many miracles happen!
Those are the highlights of the week. I love yall and have a blessed week!

Yahtzee Crew

Where to begin! This week was pretty awesome! First off I got my sick new missionary! His name is Elder Hunter and I can already tell that we will have a good time. He is from southern Utah and went to SUU before the mission! He is a genius and a very good basketball player. We are opening an area so we didn’t even have a phone for a while and almost got the new smart phones, but we ended up getting a regular old one. We will get smart phones beginning of March. Anyways we showed up to our apartment with the Spanish trio, and man, it has been sick! I am having so much fun working with E. Hunter and then coming home to the homies.  There are 5 of us in the apartment and we just have a great time together.

We have been tracting our shoes off and I literally tore holes in my shoes but I am proud of myself for having them last 18 months. Anyways, we were knocking and this lady just starts yelling at us through the window. I testify of the Book of Mormon and says that we read the Bible too she goes, “ha! No you don’t!” I just love people, ha! Another funny story was when E. Hunter tracted for his first time he got so nervous and word vomit the “we are missionaries and are you interested in our message.” I laughed and then he goes “if I say that again you can stab me” hahah!

We do some sick service here too! We work at the Bishops Store House for like 6 hours. It is so fun! That is the summery of the week. We are driving a van by the way. I am just getting ready for when I have soccer kids. Love y’all have a blessed day!

Jesus Loves Me, This I Know

I love Valentine’s Day! Happy V-day y’all! ❤

We got transfer calls and I will not be finishing my mission in Altamont. I am going to go open an area, Goodletsville, with a trainee that I get tomorrow and I will be the district leader there. I am super stoked because I will also be in an apartment with a trio so there will be five of us! They will also have a newbie (Spanish). Elder Clarke is going to Lewisburg in a trio! We have grown pretty close these last 6 weeks and I am sad to see him go. I am also gonna miss Altamont because I have made so many stories here! There is a new adventure for me though and I go where the Lord needs me.

We had an awesome meeting this week called trainer and trainee meeting. I learned so much in that meeting! Sister Stone gave us a training on Christlike attributes and I have made it a goal to really study chapter 6 of PMG. I want to be able to such a representative of Jesus Christ that I hallow every door that I knock. I have learned a lot in this area about prayer and personal revelation and I expect to continue growing closer to God. If y’all haven’t done a vocal personal prayer in a while I say try it out. I like to picture myself at the throne on God and man I can just feel the love he has for me and I can promise he loves you very much too.

We also had a stellar lesson yesterday! There just happened to be 5 of our investigators in one room! We taught from the Book of Mormon and did a kneeling prayer and it was awesome! The sisters that are replacing us have some awesome people to work with!

That is about it this week remember “perfect love a casteth out fear.”
I love y’all and I know Heavenly Father loves you perfectly. Have a blessed week y’all!

Teach Repentance from the BoM

This week has just flown by! I can't even remember what I did but I do remember some highlights.
First thing is first, a member of the ward council set up a time to meet with a less active. When we arrived we also learned that the lady has a non member grandson. Someone pointed out the temple and the grandson, Drew, asked about it. We taught him a bit about baptisms for the dead and he said that it made sense and got really excited about it. We then proceed to teach about the Book of Mormon and he has all ready READ some of it! I am so stoked that the Lord blessed us with someone to teach on this mountain. He will be out of town this week but thank goodness for Facebook.

Another note, we had the best district meeting that I have ever been apart of. All we did is our opening stuff, our "yays" for the week.  I will have to thank my mom for that idea, she made us do it every. single. day.  But it's something that has stuck with me and now a habit. Then we all shared the scripture from the Book of Mormon that has changed our life. Mine is 2 Nephi 28:32. I love that no matter how many times I mess up in life, I still have the Lords hand extended to me. We all almost came to tears sharing our scriptures and it was just so powerful for the rest of the meeting. I haven't felt this unified with my district since the MTC. When the stuff happens before the second coming I am going to call all these guys up because we have each other's backs. We finished the meeting with hot dogs.

We did an exchange with McMinnville and had such a blast! Oh, another highlight is we cleaned and painted this whole ceiling which took us like 8 hours to do over the course of the week. I am happy that the Eagles won and happy that this is the last Super Bowl that I will have to miss. Bring on March Madness!

I love ya'll and hope ya'll have a blessed week!
