This has been the craziest transfer call yet! If you receive a call on
Friday then you know you are being asked to be a leader. At 9:12
we got a call from President Stone. We immediately thought we are going
to be trio training, but that was not so. Surprisingly Elder Ledbetter
is leaving to Jasper to be with Elder Acosta (He was my MTC companion,
love that guy)!!! Then the moment of truth happened, I was asked to be
the district leader. Right after Elder Doman! I hope that I can match up
to the great DL he was. Now the best district in the mission is the
Linden district. Another crazy fact, I am receiving Elder Benich as my
companion!! He is from Utah and our mom's have a mutual friend. They
have wanted us to be companions since we found out we were serving in
Nashville Tennessee!! Our mom's must have been praying hard! We both
have the first name Conner, although he spells is Connor, and Elder
Ledbetter trained him, so this transfer call is so weird. Oh, and the
awesomeness doesn't stop there, we are getting a 2017 Tacoma!!! I am
absolutely losing my mind! I have been praying for a four wheel drive
car and we got the best truck on the planet (At home I drove a Tacoma)!
Man, I am just so excited for this transfer, it will be the best yet!
So you think this week could get any better? It does! We have 2
baptismal dates and 2 more in progress! That could be 4 this month! Our
recent convert has been doing good at showing Christ like example for
his family. The two on date are his parents and the other two are his
nephew and best friend. They love the church and the lessons have been
going well. Please pray for them because it is so hard for them to come
to church. When a date is set, the advisory tries his hardest to make it
not happen so we need the extra help. Funny thing is, we started to
talk about the Book of Mormon because Jerry's (recent convert) dad loves
native Americans.
Other highlight of the week is Ledbetter and I finally figured out how
to jive with each other and now he is getting transferred... Ha! I guess
that is how it works. We also watched the annual mission broadcast. The
big change was the schedule but we also now only have four key
indicators. Those are the goals we set and try to achieve throughout the
week. The four are baptize & confirm, baptismal dates, church
attendance (investigators), and new investigators. President Stone was
all ready working with us on the time switch up so that part didn't
change much for me. I love being apart of a church that has modern
revelation. We learned line upon line, precept upon precept to further
better ourselves and the work. The heavens are opened and the Lord is
hastening his work. Being out here I have really learned that the second
coming is literally just around the corner. Mark 13 :35-37 no one knows
when it will be but "it is better to prepare and prevent than it is to
repair and repent" - President Benson.
That is all this week folks. Stay tuned for next week! Have an blessed week!
P.S. Happy birthday to uncle Pat and aunt Brooke! Y'all are the best!
Love, Elder Q
